As of Fall 2025, the CS Department will no longer provide VMWare software on our system. We recommend that users use KVM on our machines.

If you intend to run a virtual machine on your personal computer, one option is to use VMWare Desktop Hypervisor, which is free software and can be used for personal and commercial purposes. 

Amongst products of interest for CS Students are:

• VMWare Fusion, a MacOS-based VMware workstation. As of Oct 19, 2023,  it supports Apple Silicon.
• Workstation Pro is a Windows, Linux-based version.

You will need to register for an account before you can download any VMWare software.
